Shiitake Happens had it's first sale today! The talented Chef Melba has graciously been our first customer. "I know quality mushrooms when I see them," she said kindly.
Go down to Chef Melba's Bistro on the corner 15th st and Hermosa Ave to support two local businesses and feast on some excellent California Cuisine.

I must, at this time, give you a giant remote slap on the back. Great job. We loved the Oyster Mushrooms from Shittake Happens. My wife sauteed them this morning in a bit of butter, a pinch of crushed garlic and a splash of sweet wine. We enjoyed them with scrambled eggs and grilled slices of fresh Ciabatta bread from the farmer's market at Wilson Park. Hand squeezed lemonade from the trees in our garden finished breakfast off. We all felt so refreshed and energized throughout the day. My daughter Violet told me that she only wanted 'Matt's mushrooms' from now on. Spectacular!

Ah Matt from your humble beginnings on your ikea shelf in the kitchen to a organically run metal shipper in the ghetto! All it took was a weekend in the Washington to realize your passionate about two things, Country music & Mushrooms. I'll definitely support one of those habits, The country music might take me some time to get used to though buddy!
Awesome Job friend! The soup was amazing last night(if you didn't notice kris slobbering it down)! Can't wait to try some more. Go kick some ass and take some names while your at it !
