Fresh Pioppini

Today I am going to drop some knowledge about the great Pioppini mushroom. Pioppini are a member of the shimeji family which also includes Brown Clamshell and White Clamshell mushrooms. Pioppini basically have the same flavor as porcini mushrooms but are more peppery. Pioppini are often used in stir-fry dishes because of their firm texture and you can use the whole mushroom as in cap, stem, etc. Fresh and ready to go.

Twenty Twelve

Happy New Year! Hopefully everyone survived the holiday season and has eased back into the daily grind. Santa was good to us here at SH and we are looking forward to the upcoming year. We got a few ideas up our sleeves as we continue to expand and share our delicious mushrooms throughout Southern California.

Not only are we passionate about mushrooms but we also get
stoked on one of Mother Nature's greatest gifts- the ocean. The waves have finally started to pump around the South Bay and our very own SH founder, Matt Parker was recently caught behind the lens of a few local photographers. Sweet!
